Transfiguration

"Jesus goes before us to show us the way, both up the mountain and into heaven, and--I speak boldly--it is for us now to follow him with all speed, yearning for the heavenly vision that will give us a share in his radiance, renew our spiritual nature and transform us into his own likeness, making us forever sharers in his Godhead and raising us to heights as yet undreamed of."
--St. Anastasius of Sinai

Is this what most of us think of when we think of Christianity? Could such a vision of the spiritual life of discipleship be recaptured in your life?

Peace and many blessings in the Lord!

So just were they "chatting" about? I'm thinking that Jesus, as a man, finally had the full "plan" revealed to him about who he was and what his mission was, including the part about his death.
Of course this does not discount the fact that he knew everything as God. Scripture does tell us that he had to "learn and grow in wisdom". Could it be that this was his final exam?
